Making Sense of Your Business Numbers

Most businesses collect data but struggle to understand what it actually means. We teach practical approaches to profitability analysis that help you see where money comes from and where it disappears.

Our autumn 2025 courses start in March and run through May. You'll work with real financial scenarios and build skills that translate directly to your business decisions.

Understanding Where Profit Actually Comes From

Revenue tells you what came in. But profitability analysis reveals which products, services, or customer segments actually contribute to your bottom line. And which ones quietly drain resources.

During our courses, we walk through margin calculations, cost allocation methods, and customer lifetime value assessments. Not in theory — with actual business cases that mirror what you face daily.

You'll learn to spot warning signs early. Like when sales increase but cash flow doesn't. Or when discounting erodes margins faster than volume can compensate.

Cost Structure Analysis

We break down fixed versus variable costs in ways that make operational decisions clearer. You'll see how changing your cost structure impacts break-even points and scalability.

Pricing Strategy Development

Pricing affects everything from customer perception to cash flow timing. Learn how to set prices based on value delivered rather than just covering costs plus margin.

Product Mix Optimization

Not all products deserve equal attention. We show you how to identify which offerings drive profit and which just keep you busy without meaningful return.

Cash Flow Forecasting

Profit on paper means nothing if cash isn't available when bills arrive. Build forecasting models that account for payment terms, seasonal patterns, and growth investments.

Learn From People Who've Been There

Our instructors aren't just academics. They've managed P&Ls, turned around struggling divisions, and built profitable businesses from scratch. They bring that experience into every session.

How We Actually Teach This Stuff

Forget sitting through endless PowerPoint presentations. Our courses center around working sessions where you analyze real financial data, identify problems, and develop solutions.

Each module includes case studies from Australian businesses across different sectors. You'll see how profitability challenges manifest differently in retail versus professional services versus manufacturing.

Small cohorts mean you get direct feedback on your work. When you build a financial model or create a pricing strategy, instructors review your approach and suggest improvements based on what works in practice.

By the end, you'll have templates and frameworks you can immediately apply. Not generic ones from textbooks, but tools we've refined through years of consulting engagements.
